Pakistan Foreign Minister Qureshi to visit China today, issues possible to be discussed

Islamabad: Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi will visit China on Friday. According to Pakistan's Foreign Ministry, Qureshi will visit China on July 23 and 24 at the invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. He will be accompanied by several senior officials. The Foreign Ministers of the two countries will discuss regional and international issues of further deepening bilateral relations, covid-19 vaccine, prevention of terrorism and mutual interest.

Pakistan's Foreign Ministry said in its statement that 'The two sides will, inter-alia, brainstorm on deepening bilateral relations, cooperation in high quality development under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), corona vaccine, prevention of terrorism and regional and international issues of mutual interest,' according to the ministry's statement. External Affairs Minister Qureshi's visit will further strengthen the evergreen strategic cooperation partnership between the two countries. It will also expand strategic communication and coordination with Beijing on a number of issues.

Qureshi's visit to China comes at a time when 13 people, including nine Chinese workers, were killed in a mysterious road accident in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on July 14. The incident had created bitterness in relations between the two countries that were allies at all good and bad times.
