Islamabad: During the Corona epidemic, Pakistan opened the Kartarpur Sahib corridor on Monday, without consulting India, but there was not a single devotee from India. The Kartarpur Sahib Corridor was closed about 3 months ago in the wake of the Corona epidemic. Pakistan has always shown great interest in the Kartarpur Sahib Corridor. Now when this corridor was closed due to Corona epidemic, Pakistan announced the date of opening the corridor without consulting India.
However, according to PTI, top officials say that even after the reopening of the Kartarpur corridor after a gap of about 3 months, not a single Indian devotee has reached the Kartarpur corridor due to fear of coronavirus. Pakistan has announced to open the Kartarpur Corridor for Sikh devotees from June 29 after 3 months. Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi tweeted on Saturday last weekend, saying that June 29 is the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjit Singh. We want the corridor to open on this day. For this, we are talking to India.
India had decided to close the Kartarpur Corridor on 15 March in view of the growing cases of Coronavirus. It was first closed till 31 March, but later it was decided to remain closed indefinitely.
