Islamabad: Former Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif has been declared a fugitive by the Special Court. The court has ruled that Nawaz's continued absence in the Treasury House case was heard. In addition, other key members of the Nawaz Sharif family have also been put on legal clampdown.

Former Pak PM Sharif has been living in London since November last year due to health reasons. The court asked him to appear several times, but he refused to come to Pakistan every time he made an excuse. Sharif, 70, has been Pakistan's PM three times. He had informed the Lahore court that he could not return to the country, as doctors refused to let him go in view of the threat of coronavirus.

Sharif was granted bail in November last year when his doctor claimed that Nawaz was suffering from complex multi-functional coronary artery and would have to undergo immediate surgery. Sharif somehow left Pakistan, but imran Khan, a prominent member of his family, has come on the radar of the government. Now it will be interesting to see what steps the Imran government takes against the Sharif family.
