Amritsar: Before the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Devji, the Kartarpur corridor will be opened for Sikh devotees and people will be able to visit the birthplace of Nanak Devji in Pakistan. The projecting director of Kartarpur Giliyar, Atik Mujid said that the corridor will be opened to devotees on November 9. On 11th and 12th November, the first Guru of Sikhs, Nanak Dev Ji, will be celebrated. He has said that initially 5,000 devotees will be allowed to visit every day and up to 10,000 devotees will be able to come later.

"A total of 152 counters will be set up for immigration. The distance of the border terminal from zero point will be 350 metres. He said facilities like the airport will be made available to the public. After lengthy talks, the two countries have reached an agreement on a number of issues. India and Pakistan have agreed to visit the pilgrims visa-free. Pakistan was adamant on charging service fees from devotees and not allowing protocol officers to come, but the issue was resolved later.

The Pakistani delegation came to India to discuss the matter. According to official sources, those who have ANCi cards can also go to Gurudwara through the Karatpur Corridor. In November 2018, India and Pakistan agreed to build a corridor connecting Gurudwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur.
