New Delhi: Pakistan women's cricket team has suffered a major setback ahead of the T20 World Cup, which starts in Australia next year. The team's head coach Mark Colles has resigned from his post. He has given the family reasons behind it. Mark took over as coach of the team in October 2017. Mark's tenure ends after the ICC T20 Women's World Cup to be played in Australia next year. Women's coach Mark's tenure was until the next ICC T20 Women's World Cup to be held in Australia.

If he leaves for New Zealand, then the team's batting coach Iqbal Imam will be given the charge of interim coach in his place. Pakistan women's team chief coach Mark Colles said, "I have decided to leave the post of a coach with a heavy heart. It was a task that I enjoyed very much while doing. At the moment, the responsibilities of my family are such that I cannot be fully attentive and working here". His decision was welcomed by PCB chief executive Wasim Khan.
