Pakistani conspiracy in Kanhaiyalal murder case, NIA filed charge sheet against 11

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday (December 22) filed a charge sheet against 11 accused in connection with the murder of Kanhaiyalal in Udaipur, Rajasthan. It also includes two Pakistani citizens. About 6 months ago on June 28, Kanhaiyalal, a tailor by profession, was murdered with a sharp weapon by entering his shop just for posting a social media. The assailants made a video claiming that they had killed Kanhaiya to avenge the alleged insult to Islam. Along with this, the fundamentalists had also threatened to kill PM Modi in their video. 

An NIA spokesperson has pointed out that the murder and its video were disseminated to create panic and terror among the public across the country. A case in this regard was initially registered at Dhanmandi police station in the Udaipur district of Rajasthan and was later re-registered by the NIA. A charge sheet has been filed against the accused in a special NIA court in Jaipur under various sections of IPC, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, and the Arms Act.

NIA spokesperson has said that 'Investigation has revealed that the accused persons, working as a terrorist gang-module, had hatched a conspiracy to take revenge. The accused were fanatics and were inspired by Islamic audio/videos/messages being circulated within and outside India. The NIA said the accused arranged the deadly knife and killed Kanhaiya in broad daylight just in response to a Facebook post and also attacked a co-worker in his shop.

Those named as accused in the charge sheet include Mohd Riaz Attari, Gaus Mohd, Mohsin Khan, Asif Hussain, Mohd Mohsin, Waseem Ali, Farhad Mohd Shaikh, Mohd Javed, Muslim Khan alias Muslim Raza and Pakistani nationals Salman and Abu Ibrahim. Both Pakistani nationals are residents of Karachi. The spokesman said that further investigation is on in the matter.
