Jammu: Pakistani drones have been suspected in the Hiranagar sector of Indo-Pak International border. An alert has been sounded from Kathua to the Samba sector following the incident. Security agencies launched a joint search operation in the area after drone-like activity was observed near the BSF outpost in Pansar village adjoining IB late on Friday night. However, no clue has been found so far.
It has been learnt that a drone has been found at an altitude of about 600 metres near Satpal Post in BSF around 12.30 pm. After about 10 minutes, it went to The BK Chak Post in Pak. Security agencies have been alerted about the same. CRPF, BSF, Army and SOG have jointly launched a search operation in the area from 6.30 am to around 9 am. Security forces have also been alerted in the Samba sector. Pakistani drones have been infiltrated several times along the border from Kathua to Samba.
According to information received so far, there may be an attempt to smuggle weapons and drugs from Pakistani drones along the border. In Samba district, incidents of the dropping of weapons and explosives from drones have been reported earlier also. Pakistani drones have been seen at the lower and upper sides of the Jammu and Kashmir National Highway. Security personnel have been put on high alert.
