Islamabad: Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, who was a minister in the former Imran Khan government in Pakistan, has been arrested by the Islamabad Police. His arrest was made on Thursday (February 2) morning. Sheikh Rashid is the president of the Awami Muslim League (AML). Let us tell you that AML is the main ally of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the party of former PM Imran Khan. Fawad Chaudhry, who was in Imran's cabinet before Sheikh Rashid, was also arrested.

Police have informed that Sheikh Rashid has been arrested from Murree Motorway. However, his nephew Sheikh Rashid Shafiq has told the media that the arrest was made from his residence in the Housing Society of Islamabad. PTI has shared a video on Twitter, in which former minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed is blaming the opposition party and the police. He is saying that the doors of his house were broken. The servants were beaten. Along with this, he has accused the police of forcibly making him sit in the car.

The former minister said, 'Police did 'injustice' to me. I haven't been arrested from the motorway. I have been detained from my house. My fault is that I am standing with Imran Khan. I have been a minister 16 times. Not even once have I been accused of corruption in these ministries. Sheikh Rashid has alleged that at least 100 to 200 armed men raided his house. He said that the police arrested him despite the fact that a court had granted him bail and ordered the Inspector General of Police to appear on February 6, 2023.

Condemning Rashid's arrest, former PM Imran Khan has said, 'We have never seen such a biased, vindictive government before. We are being forced to protest on the road.' But, the question is that when the country is bankrupt, can it tolerate such a movement? While a minister, Sheikh Rashid often used to threaten India with nuclear war. Once he had said that Pakistan has half a loaf to one loaf of atom bombs. Not only this, while being a minister, Rashid also said that Pakistani bombs do not harm those who believe in Islam. This means when Pakistan will attack India with an atomic bomb, then while saving the Muslims of India, that bomb will attack everyone else.
