Berlin: Amid the ongoing Israel-Gaza conflict, distressing footage has emerged showing members of the Palestinian armed group Hamas parading the naked and battered body of a German woman, Shani Louk, through the streets of Israel. The shocking incident has raised grave concerns about the treatment of civilians in the conflict zone. Videos circulating on social media depict a crowd of onlookers surrounding the Hamas vehicle, which carried Shani Louk's lifeless body. Witnesses report that the crowd screamed, jeered, and spat on the woman's body as it passed.

Initially, Hamas claimed that the victim was a female Israeli soldier, but Adi Louk, Shani Louk's sister, later confirmed her identity. Shani was a German citizen and a tattoo artist. In a heartfelt video message, Shani's mother confirmed her daughter's identity and pleaded for information regarding her whereabouts. According to reports, Shani Louk had gone missing after militants seized control of an open-air festival she was attending on Saturday morning. Her first cousin, Tomasina Weintraub-Louk, expressed hope for positive news, saying, "It is definitely Shani. She was at a music festival for peace. This is a nightmare for our family."

The music festival Shani had attended was among the first sites targeted by Hamas militants as they launched a massive rocket attack, firing over 5,000 rockets at Israel on Saturday morning. The militants subsequently infiltrated the country and have also captured foreigners. Reports indicate that seven Nepali individuals have been injured in Israel, with 17 others taken hostage by Hamas militants. The ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine has resulted in approximately 500 casualties in both territories, further intensifying concerns about the humanitarian impact of the violence.
