For the past several days, the Rajasthan's Jat community has been demanding a ban on director Ashutosh Gowariker's historical drama film 'Panipat'. In view of their opposition, the disputed part of the film has been edited. According to the source, the controversial scene related to Maharaja Surajmal from the film has been deleted and sent to the censor board again. It is being told that after the edit, the film has got A certificate, after which the length of the film has been reduced by 11 minutes. This decision was taken after the Jat community protested.

On Wednesday, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Rajiv Swaroop told the media that the film distributor had informed him that the producers of the film were going to remove the disputed part. He also told that after editing the producers have put the film in front of the censor board and passed from there.

There was a dispute over 'Panipat' when the Jat king of Bharatpur, Maharaja Suraj Mal was shown as a greedy and selfish king. After this, the Jat leaders demanded a complete ban on this film because the historical facts have been allegedly twisted into it. However, the administration said that the government has no intention of banning the film and the decision to cancel the show has been taken by the distributors and the theater owners at their level.
