The scourge of coronavirus is constantly increasing rapidly across the country. There is also 'vaccine politics' between Maharashtra and the Central Government. On the one hand, the Maharashtra Health Minister has made a statement saying, "There is a shortage of corona vaccine in the state." This has been termed as baseless and nonsense by Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan. Amidst all this, the Municipal Corporation in Panvel, Maharashtra has issued an official notice stating that "vaccination is being stopped due to non-availability of the vaccines.''

In addition, 109 vaccination centers have been closed in Pune due to a shortage of vaccines, however, one of the biggest reasons behind the vaccine shortage is that Maharashtra has increased vaccination in the last few days. On the other hand, NCP MP Supriya Sule said that 109 centers remained closed in the Pune district on Wednesday due to a lack of vaccine stock. He also said that 55,539 people were vaccinated at 391 centers in Pune on Wednesday but thousands of people had to return without taking a vaccine as the stock was exhausted. In fact, vaccination has also been stopped in Satara in Maharashtra late last Wednesday night due to a lack of vaccine.

Some media reports have reported that about 2.6 lakh people have been given the first dose of the vaccine so far. On the other hand, union health minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan has termed the complaint of shortage of vaccines as irresponsible. "This statement is made to share the attention of the people and create panic among them," he says. Dr. Harsh Vardhan also accused Maharashtra of trying to cover up its failures over the epidemic.
