New Delhi: If everything goes well, Indian biscuit maker Parle Products may soon buy Polish company, Dr Gerard. Bridgepoint bought Dr Gerard Company from France's Groupe Poult in 2013. Founded in 1993, Dr Gerard manufactures more than 200 different types of biscuits and salty snacks. The company exports its products to more than 30 countries.
According to media reports, Bridgepoint appointed Hulihan Loki to depart Dr Gerard earlier this year. However, political instability in Europe in addition to the Russia and Ukraine wars has greatly dulled this process. At present, Dr Gerard's company is valued at Rs 1,000-1,200 crore. Its valuation can go up to about Rs 1,600-2,400 crore. However, Parle, Bridgepoint and Dr Gerard are yet to officially comment on the new deal.
According to media reports, Parle has topped the ranking of most liked FMGG brands for 10 consecutive years. This is followed by Amul, Britannia, Clinic Plus and Tata Consumer Products, which are included as FMCG brands. Parle's revenue in March 2021 was Rs 13,682 crore, leading in annual revenue, beating rivals including Britannia and Nestle.
