Parliament's Budget Session to continue today at 11 am

New Delhi: Following Speaker Om Birla's late Tuesday adjournment, the Lok Sabha will resume its operations at 11 a.m. on Wednesday.

On the second day of the second half of the Budget session, the Lok Sabha discussed Demands for Grants in the Railway Ministry. The House's sessions were extended till 11 p.m.

Congress MP K Suresh, who introduced the debate on Demand for Grants 2022-23 for Railway in the Lok Sabha, accused the Central government of running the railroads inefficiently and of engaging in jugglery in the allocation of funds.

DMK MP Kanimozhi expressed alarm over large vacancies in railroads, saying that South Indians do not obtain jobs and that there appears to be a campaign to keep them away. She demanded that the administration explain how, since 73 percent electrification is currently achieved, 100 percent electrification can be attained by next year.

The second half of Parliament's Budget session began on March 14 and will end on April 8. The first half of the Budget session began on January 31 and ended on February 11, with the second half beginning on January 31 and ending on February 11.
