Palestinian Authority's Controversial Document: Calls for Violence Against Jews

Jerusalem: The Palestinian Authority (PA) has recently faced controversy due to a document issued by its Ministry of Endowments and Religious Affairs. This document, dated October 18, 2023, contained directives for Friday sermons in mosques and included a verse calling for the murder of all Jews by Muslims.

The document also referred to the attack on Gaza's Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital, blaming Israel for the incident, despite evidence showing it was a failed Hamas rocket that struck the hospital. The PA document emphasized its refusal to raise the white flag until Israel was defeated, and a Palestinian state was established, with Jerusalem as its capital.

This document included Islamic verses, one of which was from Sahih Al Bukhari, stating, "The hour will not come until the Muslims fight the Jews, and the Muslims kill them until the Jew hides behind the stones and trees, and the stones or trees say, 'O Muslim, O servant of Allah, this is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.'"

The revelation of this document by the Regavim movement highlighted the contentious nature of the situation. The movement argued that there is no fundamental difference between the goals of Hamas and the Palestinian Authority, both seemingly focused on the elimination of Jews.

This development follows a recent shift in the Palestinian Authority's stance, with its President, Mahmoud Abbas, initially criticizing Hamas for its attacks on Israel but later removing references to his remarks about the group. In light of these developments, it appears that the Palestinian Authority is sending conflicting messages and facing criticism for its changing stance and the content of this recent document.
