The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Saturday that former New Zealand all-rounder Grant Bradburn has been named the men's team's head coach on a two-year contract following a successful stint as a consultant.

Bradburn oversaw Pakistan's recent home series against New Zealand, where the Babar Azam-led team split the five-match T20 international series 2-2 and trounced the visitors 4-1 in the one-day international series.

Before working at their National Cricket Academy (NCA), the former head coach of Scotland had previously been Pakistan's fielding coach from 2018 to 2020.

Bradburn "joins with plethora of coaching experience," according to a statement from PCB chairman Najam Sethi. He is an excellent choice to lead our squad ahead because he is familiar with our culture and cricket philosophy from his previous experience with our men's side and at the NCA.

Mickey Arthur, a former head coach of Pakistan, was recently named team director in preparation for their three-match ODI series against Afghanistan and the 50-over Asia Cup.

As Pakistan's head coach, Bradburn said, "It's a great honour for me to work with a highly talented and skilled side like Pakistan." Bradburn will want to gain momentum before the 50-over World Cup later this year.

"We've been working hard to step up our game, and we can't wait to show off our developing abilities. Mickey Arthur and I are eager to assist, push, and help our players grow. "The New Zealand series has been valuable to get game time and create clarity of roles, culture, and brand to win."

Andrew Puttick, a former cricketer for South Africa, has also agreed to a two-year deal to serve as Pakistan's batting coach.
