Islamabad: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ehsan Mani has resigned from his post on Thursday. He completed his three-year term as PCB chief. A PCB official said Mani will no longer be the chairman of the board as his term expired on August 25.

He said, "We cannot comment on it anymore, as the notification for the election of the new president will be issued by the PM itself.'' PM Imran Khan is currently the patron of the board and he will nominate two people and send them to the Governor's Board of PCB, one of whom will be appointed as the new chairman. According to media reports, former Pakistan captain Ramiz Raja will now replace Ehsan Mani.

A few days ago, Pakistani media claimed that Ehsan Mani's tenure was not going to increase and the country's PM and World Cup-winning veteran captain Imran Khan had taken the decision. In Pakistan, the PM is the guardian of the PCB and the final decision on appointments is his. Imran's decision will have to be accepted by the board and he is suggesting Ramiz Raja's name as the new chairman.
