'Pedestrians are also responsible for road accidents,' says Delhi court

It is not only the driver of the vehicle, sometimes even the pedestrians are responsible for the road accident. In every accident, the fault and responsibility are not only of the driver. South Delhi's Saket district court, while awarding a case verdict, has also included the fact that pedestrians also violate traffic rules. Such careless pedestrians are also responsible for the increasing number of road accidents.

Saket court's Additional Sessions Judge ASJ D Singh acquitted the guilty driver, overturning the Metropolitan Magistrate's court's order in the case of a road accident death 7 years ago. The court, on the basis of facts, statements of witnesses, and evidence, ruled that the pedestrian was killed due to his haste. However, the medical examination report of AIIMS Trauma Center also mentions the injuries and wounds suffered by him. Apart from this, the post-mortem report also confirmed the collision with the vehicle. But none of the eyewitnesses corroborated the allegation of negligence on the speeding driver in the court.

Actually, the incident is of 2015. In which a person crossing the road in South Delhi's Sangam Vihar area was hit by a car. The injured was immediately taken to the AIIMS Trauma Center. But he died due to treatment. The advice of experts has also been cited in this matter, which clearly states that while walking on the road, be careful and take extra care. Do not walk with mobile, earphones, etc, where there is no footpath or if it is not proper, then walk keeping your face in the direction of the traffic. Cross the road only at the zebra crossing. Cross the road only when there is a red light. Panicking while crossing the road can be fatal. You can get badly injured, even if not killed. Recently Delhi Police Commissioner Sanjay Arora released 'Delhi Road Crash Report-2021'. According to the report, most (41. 15) Percent of the deaths are of pedestrians. The second number is the death of two-wheeler drivers. The percentage of deaths of two-wheeler drivers is 38.1. As per reports, more road accidents have taken place at night than during the day.
