The Karnataka government has quarantined people coming from Maharashtra. However, the duration of isolation has been extended. Health Commissioner Pankaj Kumar Pandey said in a tweet that by extending the time of isolation for three weeks, people coming from Maharashtra will be sent to institutional quarantine for seven days. After this, 14 days of strict home quarantine have to be followed for a total of 21 days.

Also, the 21-day quarantine is for those returning from Maharashtra with no signs of coronavirus. Karnataka has a domestic travel history, seeing most cases of coronavirus. If any odd people develop symptoms during isolation, they will be subjected to Covid testing.

Some of the unsuspecting persons of Maharashtra have been provided with some exceptions from the three-week and have been designated as special class passengers. Special category passengers include those who have suffered death in the family, pregnant women, children under 10, elderly people, people suffering from serious illness and human distress. In particular, the department has also made some provisions for business travellers from Maharashtra. The number of coronavirus cases in the country has crossed 2 lakh. According to the information given by the Union Health Ministry, there are 106737 active cases of coronavirus in the country at this time. So far 104106 infected people have been cured out of total cases. 6075 infected people have died due to corona.
