Police seize vehicles, 68 vehicles recovered as people break night curfew rules

Due to corona, there has been a drastic change in many areas of the country. In order to prevent the increase of cases of coronavirus infection in Mangaluru, Karnataka, the police have started strict enforcement of curfew from Saturday night. Even after this, many people are seen breaking the rules. According to the news received, a total of 68 vehicles have been recovered by the Mangaluru police, including 64 vehicles with two-wheelers.

According to the news received, all these vehicles have been seized on the first day of the curfew. Police were deployed at 45 checkpoints in the city, which are intercepting vehicles after 10 pm. With this, it is being said that the police are keeping a strict vigil on places like restaurants, bars, and pubs.

Police sources said that the vehicles plying after ten o'clock in the night were investigated and the movement of people without reason was banned. The duration of the curfew is from 10 pm to 5 am. Hotel owners and shopkeepers closed shops on Saturday night as scheduled. A large number of police personnel, including four assistant commissioners, two deputy commissioners, 18 inspectors, and 40 sub-inspectors have been deployed to monitor the situation. It is worth noting that the state government has imposed curfew in main districts, district headquarters, towns and other urban areas from 11 am to 5 am for 11 days from Saturday to 20 April.
