Jamnagar: Gujarat Police has arrested a 20-year-old man who threatened Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar from Jamnagar. The accused has been identified as Manoj Dodia. Police officials will reach Mumbai on Thursday and present Manoj in court to demand police custody. Manoj was arrested by the police officers on Wednesday evening.
However, the reasons for which the phone was being threatened was still not known. In the last week of December last year, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar received a threatening call. The accused had called on the mobile of Mayor Kishori Pednekar. The accused spoke in Hindi and abused the Mayor. The mayor later filed a complaint at Azad Maidan police station in South Mumbai, where the BMC headquarters is located.
The police only had a mobile number and through technology, the police managed to reach Manoj. Manoj was arrested by police officers on Wednesday evening. BMC elections are going to be held next year. Pednekar was elected as the Mayor of Mumbai in 2019, he is corporator from Shiv Sena.
