State-owned oil companies (IOCL) have released new rates of petrol and diesel. Today i.e. on Tuesday, once again the price of petrol and diesel has seen an increase. Let me tell you all that petrol in Delhi has become costlier by 80 paise per litre and diesel by 70 paise per litre. On the other hand, if you look at the latest update of Indian Petroleum Marketing Company Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), after the new rate, Delhi will have to pay Rs 100.21 for a litre of petrol and Rs 91.47 for diesel.
Let us also inform all of you that this is the sixth increase in oil prices in the last 7 days. In fact, oil companies have continued to increase the prices of petrol and diesel from March 22 (except March 24) and thus petrol has become costlier by Rs 4.40 in seven days. Diesel, on the other hand, has become costlier by Rs 4.55. Let us tell you all that in Kolkata today, petrol has increased from Rs 108.01 per litre to Rs 108.53 per litre. At the same time, diesel is being given at Rs 93.57 per litre in Kolkata.
Apart from this, if we talk about Chennai, then one litre of petrol here has increased from Rs 104.43 a litre to ₹104.90 today and diesel is reaching Rs 95.00 a litre. Let us also tell you all that the prices of petrol and diesel change at 6 a.m. every day. Yes, and the new rates come into effect from six o'clock in the morning. You must be aware that after adding excise duty, dealer commission and other things to the price of petrol and diesel, its price almost doubles.
