Petrol and diesel prices at the national level have remained stable since Deepawali amid volatility in international crude oil prices. Indian petroleum companies have not changed the prices of petrol and diesel even today (Tuesday). The central government had reduced excise duty on petrol and diesel a day before Deepawali. Since then, many states have also reduced VAT on petrol and diesel. However, there are protests in non-BJP territories including Delhi, Bengal not to reduce VAT on vehicle fuel prices.
According to the latest update by the same petroleum marketing company Indian Oil Corporation, petrol price in the national capital Delhi on November 09 rests at Rs 103.97 while diesel at Rs 86.67 per litre. In Mumbai, petrol is selling at Rs 109.98 while diesel is selling at Rs 94.14 per litre.
