Punjab:  The Punjab Vidhan Sabha session commences on Monday, November 8. This is the first session since the Congress changed leadership, with Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi taking over as Leader of the House. The session begins with obituary references, with the House honouring seven individuals.

The second day of the session will be held on November 11 as a result of the cabinet decision. The Cabinet decided to extend the 16th Special Session of the 15th Punjab Vidhan Sabha by another day on November 11 (Thursday) due to a variety of legislative business/obligations, according to an official statement.

As a result, a special session of the State Assembly will be held on November 8 and 11 for two days, according to the statement. Last month, the Cabinet approved calling a special session of the Vidhan Sabha to oppose the Centre's notification extending the Border Security Force's (BSF) jurisdiction along the international border, as well as the Centre's three farm laws. On November 8, there will be obituary references, according to the official programme of the business to be transacted in the session. On Tuesday and Wednesday, there will be three days off.
