State-owned oil companies have not increased the price of petrol and diesel since excise duty was reduced by the central government. At the national level today (November 14th), prices are stable as there is no change in the prices of petrol and diesel. Several states have reduced oil VAT following the central government's reduction in excise duty on petrol and diesel, selling cheaper vehicle fuel. However, many states have not reduced VAT, which is being opposed by the general public to petrol pump operators.
According to the latest update from the same petroleum marketing company Indian Oil Corporation, the price of petrol in Delhi is stable at Rs 103.97 while diesel at Rs 86.67 per litre. In Mumbai, petrol is fixed at Rs 109.98 and diesel at Rs 94.14 per litre. In addition, petrol price in Kolkata is selling at Rs 104.67 while diesel is selling at Rs 89.79 per litre. In Chennai too, petrol is Rs 101.40 a litre while diesel is at Rs 91.43 a litre.
