After this increase, the price of petrol in Delhi has been increased to Rs 80.38 per liter and the price of diesel to Rs 80.40 per liter.
It is noteworthy that the prices of petrol and diesel have increased continuously for the past several days. On Wednesday, diesel became more expensive than petrol. Diesel was costlier than petrol. This happened for the first time in history, when the price of one liter diesel exceeded petrol. Oil marketing companies (HPCL, BPCL, IOC) had increased prices.
The companies had not made any change in the prices of petrol, but had increased the prices of diesel by 48 paise. After the increase on Wednesday, the price of one liter diesel in Delhi was Rs 79.88. While the price of petrol was Rs 79.76 per liter. While the price of crude oil has been between $ 35-40 per barrel for the last 15 days, on the other hand there has been a steady rise in the prices of petrol and diesel in the country.
