New Delhi: The price of petrol has been hiked by 25 paise per litre and diesel by 30 paise per litre on Thursday. Oil companies have raised fuel prices for the third consecutive day. This is one of the major increases in both the fuels since the launch of the daily price review in the prices of petrol and diesel. Oil companies have raised vehicle fuel prices in the domestic market following rising crude oil prices in the global market.

Petrol price in Delhi has increased from Rs 90.74 to Rs 90.99 per litre following the hike. Diesel prices rose from Rs 81.12 to Rs 81.42 per litre. This information was given in the Price Notification issued by the oil companies. Both fuel prices have increased across the country. This increase varies from State to State. This difference is due to the varying rate of vat levied at the local level in the states.

This has been the third consecutive day that oil companies have hiked the retail prices of petrol and diesel. Oil companies had not changed the price for 18 consecutive days during the assembly elections. However, in these three days, the price of petrol has gone up by 59 paise and diesel by 69 paise per litre. The price fall between March 24 and April 15 due to the hike has almost come to an end.
