Islamabad: The problems of the people of Pakistan, troubled by inflation and tax burdens, are going to grow even further. In Pakistan, petrol and diesel prices are expected to rise by 10 percent from August. Pakistan's Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) on Tuesday proposed a 10-year increase in the prices of petroleum products from the month of August to the Pakistani government.

This was suggested by Pakistan's regulatory body in view of the rise in crude oil prices in the global market. In view of the government's revenue collection target, the Finance Ministry will review the prices of petroleum products on Wednesday. Ogra has proposed an increase of Rs 5.15 per liter of petrol, Rs 5.65 for high-speed diesel and Rs 5.38 for kerosene oil. If the proposal is passed, petrol prices will go up from 112.68 to 117.83 per liter.

Similarly, high-speed diesel will also get Rs 132.47 per letter instead of Rs 126.82 per liter. Kerosene oil will also fetch Rs 103.84 per liter after an increase of Rs 5. Quoting sources in the Petroleum Division, the Express Tribune wrote that the government may approve a partial hike in oil prices. The government will reduce the GST rate and the petroleum levy to ensure that the entire burden of the hike does not fall on the ground.
