The common man has been relieved for the past one month on the rising petrol and diesel prices front in India. Oil companies have not changed the prices of vehicle fuel petrol and diesel even on Sunday, December 12. Petrol and diesel prices have remained stable since Diwali at the national level. According to a recent update by Indian Petroleum Marketing Company Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL), petrol prices are pinned at Rs 95.41 per litre at an Indian Oil pump in the country's capital Delhi on Sunday (December 12). On the other hand, the price of diesel is also stable at Rs 86.67 per litre.

Coming to the four major metros (Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai), Mumbai, the economic capital of the country, has the highest fuel prices. Petrol in Mumbai is around Rs 110 while diesel is across Rs 94 a litre. Petrol and diesel prices vary in the states due to VAT and freight rates. Petrol and diesel are expensive in Rajasthan due to different rates of VAT (VAT) on vehicle fuel at the state level. Petrol in Sriganganagar in Rajasthan is Rs 112 per litre. While petrol in Port Blair is selling cheapest with Rs 82.96 per litre. On the other hand, when it comes to diesel, Port Blair has Rs 77.13 per litre while Sriganganagar has Rs 95.26 per litre.
