After the death of photo journalist Danish Siddiqui due to coverage of the clash in Afghanistan, his father Akhtar Siddiqui has requested the government to bring his mortal remains to India at the earliest. He said that before this afternoon, we got information from his office that danish had met with the accident. Danish worked for news agency Reuters and received the Pulitzer Award in 2018.

His father Akhtar Siddiqui said "he had gone to Afghanistan on his official contract. It never seemed that he was under stress. We received a news from the Ministry of External Affairs, they said that they are trying to trace. We recommend that his body be brought here at the earliest.”

At the same time, he said that he was constantly talking to Danish. "They were comfortable there, we had a talk the day before yesterday," he explained. The Government of India is making efforts, but because it is not a commitment, we will only request that they be brought here at the earliest. Siddiqui died due to clashes in Spin Boldak district of Kandahar. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, our Ambassador to Kabul is in contact with Afghan officials. We are reporting all the updates to his (Danish Siddiqui) family, he said.
