BEIJING: The People's Liberation Army on Friday conducted medical drills on a speeding train that has been converted into a mobile hospital, indicating that the military was getting ready in case of casualties. The People's Daily, the Communist Party's mouthpiece, claimed that the train had an intensive care unit and a surgical theater and could hold more than 100 patients. In retaliation for US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's visit to the island on Thursday, the PLA held unprecedented war games close to Taiwan. They are likely to last till Sunday afternoon.

Sky and Sea

According to Taiwan's Defense Ministry, several PLA warships and warplanes were seen that morning in the waters off Taiwan, some of which were passing over the midline. According to the ministry, the ships and planes represented attacks on Taiwanese territory. To warn them, Taiwan's military broadcast radio warnings, deployed jet and naval ships, and missiles.
The ministry did not disclose the number of participating ships and aircraft.

UAV activity

Taiwan's military reported seven drone flights over Komoy on Saturday night and Friday night. The islands, also known as Kinmen, are under the control of Taipei, but very close to Fujian Province on the Chinese mainland. The Taiwanese military said it also opened fire on Matsu Island and Dongyin on Friday night to scare away drones and unidentified aircraft.

Overview on Taiwan's Battleship

According to CCTV, fighter jets, bombers, airborne early warning systems and reconnaissance aircraft flew over Taiwan in Friday's exercise. According to CCTV, PLA pilot Hou Hong and others undertook a mission that flew close to the island in an attempt to contain and increase the pressure. According to Taiwan's defense ministry, 49 flights from the mainland reportedly crossed the midline of the Taiwan Strait on Friday.
Additionally, according to state news agency Xinhua, PLA drones captured images of rockets attacking targets in the Taiwan Strait.

Sanctions on pelosi

China imposed sanctions on Pelosi and his family members on Friday. According to the ministry, his visit to Taiwan has seriously violated China's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Harsh words

On Saturday, China's state-run Xinhua news agency sharply criticized Pelosi, accusing him of committing "six sins" by visiting Taiwan. Opinion Peace attacked the US for "hollowing out" the one-China doctrine, claiming the visit violated three communiqués, the joint declarations that serve as the cornerstone of contemporary US-China relations. Washington has repeatedly said that it does not support Beijing's claim that Taiwan is part of China, only that it acknowledges it. Xinhua also accused Pelosi of meddling in China's internal affairs and acting selfishly to boost the Democratic Party's chances in the upcoming US midterm elections. Pelosi denied the claim, saying she visited the island to support Taiwan's democracy as Beijing escalated tensions.

No cooperation on climate

China has also stopped working with the US in the fight against climate change. The two most powerful armed forces in the world no longer communicate regularly, making it more difficult for them to avert unintentional conflicts. Beijing also announced that it would stop working with other countries to combat the drug trade, fight crime and deport illegal immigrants.

The exercise also resulted in a diplomatic crisis with the neighbours. Beijing was criticized by top diplomats from the Group of 7 for "raising tensions and destabilizing the region".
