He had a heart transplant 10 years ago in Kerala. Dr. Joseph, who transplanted Thomas' heart, inspired him to become an athlete and compete in the World Transplant Games. After which Thomas worked on his fitness. He is scheduled to participate in the 5 km marathon on Sunday.
