The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will remain the biggest Twenty20 league in the world. Be it in terms of money involved, share of world-class players, or fan following on social media, the IPL remains unmatched when compared to other T20 leagues across the globe. However, things may change soon as Saudi Arabia has given the owners of IPL teams an opportunity to make the world's richest T20 league in their country.
After investing heavily in other sports like football and Formula 1, Saudi Arabia is now eyeing cricket. He also talked to the BCCI about this issue so that Indian players could participate in this league. Now this issue has increased the tension at BCCI. The Saudi Arabian government is planning to include an Indian board and an Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise for its T20 league. BCCI immediately took a decision on this proposal from Saudi. He has clearly stated that he will not release his players for the T20 league in Saudi Arabia. Discussing the news of the change in the board's rules, a BCCI source said, "There is no question of releasing the Indian players. In fact, the very premise of the question is wrong."
According to an Australian media report, Saudi Arabia has already held talks with IPL franchises, but six out of 10 owners of IPL teams who spoke with a media portal categorically said that they knew nothing about this league. The owners of the teams did not discuss it openly, but the source of the BCCI categorically refused to discuss this type of league in Saudi Arabia in the coming time.
