LUCKNOW: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to lay the foundation stone of the upcoming Pradhan Mantri Mitra mega textile and apparel park in the state.

Rakesh Sachan, the Minister for Medium, Small, and Micro Enterprises, expressed his optimism, stating, "The park holds the potential to catapult the state into a $1 trillion economy. The Prime Minister himself will initiate the commencement of this transformative project."

In addition to the textile park, plans are underway for the establishment of three multi malls in Uttar Pradesh, specifically in Varanasi, Lucknow, and Gorakhpur. Coordination with the Prime Minister's office is underway, and once finalized, the program schedule will be announced. It is expected that the ceremony will take place within the next one or two months," Sachan added.

The textile park will be strategically located in the well-connected Atari village of Malihabad block, situated on the outskirts of Lucknow. The minister highlighted that the park will attract an investment of Rs 10,000 crore, as the government aims to provide state-of-the-art facilities that align with global standards, enabling it to surpass competition
These facilities include a comprehensive network of roads, round-the-clock power and water supply, warehouses, a zero liquid discharge effluent treatment plant, training and skill development centers, an administrative building with product display facility, an exhibition center with a testing laboratory, workers' hostels, housing zones, medical facilities, commercial and recreational amenities, expansive open spaces and parks, robust security arrangements, as well as industrial plots and plug-and-play industrial sheds.

"The park will serve as a catalyst for Uttar Pradesh's economic growth, fostering job creation, expanding trade opportunities, and positioning the state as a prominent textile manufacturing and production hub. Once operational, it is projected to provide employment opportunities to one lakh young individuals," the minister affirmed.

Acknowledging the challenges faced by small enterprises in terms of packaging, Sachan reiterated the government's commitment to promoting and supporting MSMEs while addressing their concerns. He also emphasized the government's focus on the development of multi malls.

"We have proposed the establishment of three multi malls in Uttar Pradesh, specifically in Varanasi, Lucknow, and Gorakhpur. We have held discussions with Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal regarding this promising initiative," he said

Underscoring the significance of MSME registration, Sachan urged more enterprises in the state to come forward and register for enhanced benefits and support.
