New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished Lal Krishna Advani, a senior BJP leader and former Deputy Prime Minister, a happy birthday on Monday. Today is Advani's 94th birthday. "Congratulations on your birthday, respected Advani Ji." I'm hoping for a long and healthy life for him. For his numerous efforts to empower people and enhance our cultural pride, the nation is indebted to him. He is also well-known for his scholarly pursuits and deep intellect," Prime Minister tweeted.

On the occasion, Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also expressed his best wishes. "Warmest greetings to our guardian and inspiration, respected LK Advani ji, on his retirement." Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also extended his greetings on the occasion. "Hearty congratulations to our guardian and inspiration, respected LK Advani ji on his birthday. Since BJP's rise to become a major national party, he has been an invaluable contribution. I wish him good health and long life," tweeted Pradhan.

Advani, who was born in Karachi on November 8, 1927, served in the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance government from 1998 to 2004 as Minister of Home Affairs. From 2002 to 2004, he was the Deputy Prime Minister under Atal Bihari Vajpayee. He is a senior leader of the BJP and one of its co-founders. Advani began his political career as a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh volunteer (RSS). Advani received the Padma Vibhushan, India's second highest civilian honour, in 2015.
