PM Digs at Congress on Minority Rights and Population Factors: Here's What He Said

In Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a pointed critique against the ruling Congress party, accusing them of undermining the rights of minority communities and fanning divisions among Hindus based on population considerations. He emphasized that the nation's impoverished citizens, in his view, hold the foremost claim to India's resources due to their substantial majority. This assertion appeared to be a response to the findings of Bihar's caste census conducted by the Nitish Kumar-led government, a member of the Opposition's INDIA bloc.

Addressing the audience at the BJP's 'Parivartan Sankalp Rally' in Jagdalpur, the Prime Minister unveiled several development initiatives valued at Rs 26,000 crore for the state, including the inauguration of the NDMC's steel plant. Here are the key excerpts from his speech:

"Congress leaders have been advocating 'jitni aabadi, utna haq' (rights should be based on a community's population). For me, the most significant population in the country is the underprivileged, and their well-being is my primary objective."

"Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh used to assert that minorities hold the foremost claim to the country's resources. Now, the Congress is suggesting that population should determine who has the primary claim. Does Congress intend to diminish the rights of minorities?"

"So, based on the majority population factor, is Congress stripping away the rights of minorities? Should Hindus, who constitute the majority, approach them to assert their rights?"

"Congress is striving to fragment Hindu society and intensify societal divisions, only leaving poverty in its wake."

"Congress is no longer being governed by its own members; its prominent leaders have chosen to remain silent and refrain from expressing their opinions. Congress appears to have been outsourced, with a few individuals orchestrating its affairs from the shadows."

"These individuals seem to be in collusion with anti-India forces. Congress appears willing to divide Hindus at any cost, with the aim of undermining the nation."

"Congress seems determined to create divisions among the underprivileged."

"Their preoccupation with retaining power has left them with no time to address the concerns of this region. Their sole focus is on preserving their government."

"Corrupt individuals dare not confront Modi directly, which is why they are apprehensive about appearing here."

In his address, Prime Minister Modi voiced his concerns about Congress's approach to resource allocation based on population, suggesting that it could potentially erode the rights of minority communities and sow discord among the majority Hindu population.
