New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted a tweet today i.e. on Sunday and shared the details of the benefits of various schemes of the Central Government for the farmers in this tweet, saying, "Empowered farmers are the key to a prosperous nation. PM Modi said that the country is proud of our farmer brothers and sisters. If the farmers in the country are further empowered, then New India will be further prosperous. I am happy that the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi and other schemes related to agriculture are giving new strength to crores of farmers of the country.''

In fact, Prime Minister Modi has tweeted that 11.3 crore farmers in the country have benefited directly from the schemes, in which Rs 1.82 lakh crore has been transferred directly to their accounts. Not only this, but apart from this, farmers have received annual assistance of Rs 6,000 under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi. While an amount of Rs 1.30 lakh crore has been transferred during the COVID pandemic. The benefits have reached the small farmers in particular. Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi was announced in the interim Union Budget of the Government of India presented by the Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal in February 2019.

However, in the meantime, a loan facility of Rs.1 lakh crore has been provided for the development of agricultural infrastructure under the Agricultural Infrastructure Fund and in these, loans worth Rs.8,585 crore have been sanctioned for 11,632 projects. Apart from this, PM Modi informed that 1.73 crore farmers have registered on the e-NAM platform, which has done a business of Rs 1.87 lakh crore.
