PM Modi Empowers Rural Women with Drones and Financial Support - Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended the determination and success of India's "Lakhpati Didis" during a recent event in New Delhi. He distributed 1,000 drones to 1,000 Namo Drone Didis across 10 locations in the country and provided bank loans to Self-Help Groups (SHGs) as part of the Sashakt Nari - Viksit Bharat program at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Pusa.

Interacting with the Lakhpati Didis, the PM listened to their stories of resilience and success. Addressing the gathering, he emphasized the historic significance of the event, highlighting the expanding role of drone technology in India. He praised the remarkable growth of SHGs over the past decade, underscoring their contribution to women's empowerment.

PM Modi outlined the diverse applications of drones, including delivery of essential items like milk, groceries, medicines, and medical samples. He underscored the Namo Drone Didi Scheme's role in enabling women to become drone pilots, thus unlocking numerous opportunities for them.

Among the drones distributed were Kisan drones manufactured by Garuda Aerospace. Agnishwar Jayaprakash, Founder and CEO of Garuda Aerospace, expressed gratitude for the PM's support, emphasizing their mission to provide affordable Precision Agri Drone Technology to rural women entrepreneurs and farmers, thereby creating employment opportunities for youth.

The NaMo Drone Didi and Lakhpati Didi initiatives align with the PM's vision of promoting economic empowerment and financial independence among women, particularly in rural areas. The event also saw the felicitation of Lakhpati Didis who have achieved success through programs like the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana - National Rural Livelihood Mission, and are now inspiring other SHG members.

The NaMo Drone Didi Initiative aims to train rural women as drone pilots for agricultural purposes. It seeks to equip 15,000 women-led SHGs with agricultural drones to facilitate tasks such as crop monitoring, fertilization, and seed sowing, thereby enhancing agricultural efficiency and livelihoods in rural India.
