New Delhi: India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a video message to the opening session of the "Voice of Global South Summit" in New Delhi, today, January 12, 2023.
We have turned the page on another challenging year that saw war, bloodshed, terrorism, and tensions, Prime Minister Modi remarked during the opening session.
Concerns about climate change and rising food, fuel, and fertiliser prices were raised by the prime minister. "It is obvious that the globe is in a situation of crisis," he remarked. The Global South is most at risk for the future.
“Most of global challenges have not been created by Global South, but they affect us more.” the PM said. "India has always shared its developmental experience with our brothers of the Global South," the prime minister added.
"It is only natural that our purpose is to strengthen the voice of the Global South as India begins its G20 Presidency this year," "It is difficult to estimate how long the situation of instability will remain," he said.
