New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi used blockchain technology to confer digital certificates on Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar (PMRBP) awardees for the years 2022 and 2021 on Monday.
The Prime Minister is interacting virtually with the recipients of the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar.
The Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar is awarded to children residing in India who are over the age of five and under the age of eighteen (as of August 31 of the respective year) and who demonstrate exceptional abilities and outstanding achievement in six areas of innovation, scholastic achievement, sports, arts and culture, social service, and bravery.
Notably, this year, 29 children from across the country have been selected for PMRBP-2022 under various categories of Bal Shakti Puraskar. Each year, the awardees march in the Republic Day parade. Each PMRBP awardee receives a medal, a Rs 1 lakh cash prize, and a certificate. The cash prize will be transferred into the winners' respective bank accounts," the PMO stated in a press release.
President Ram Nath Kovind bestows these honours during a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhawan. Each year, the Prime Minister meets with these awardees. The children, their parents, and the district's concerned District Magistrate would attend the event from their district headquarters.
