Washington: In an extraordinary culmination of his inaugural State Visit to the United States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi bid farewell to Washington on Friday and embarked on a momentous journey to Egypt, deepening ties with the Arab nation over a span of two days.

During his visit to the US, Prime Minister Narendra Modi actively participated in numerous programmes and engaging interactions, aimed at fortifying the India-USA friendship. These collaborative efforts intend to create a brighter future for the forthcoming generations, as both nations strive to make our planet a better place. Through his official Twitter handle, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his gratitude, stating, "Concluding a very special USA visit, where I got to take part in numerous programmes and interactions aimed at adding momentum to the India-USA friendship. Our nations will keep working together to make our planet a better place for the coming generations."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended several high-profile events and met with esteemed Indian and American CEOs during his stay in the United States. His arrival at the White House was marked by a grand ceremonial welcome and an honorable guard of honor. Throughout his visit, he had the privilege of being hosted by US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden, who graciously organized a state dinner at the White House. Additionally, the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and US Vice President Kamala Harris extended their hospitality by hosting a State Luncheon in honor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Before embarking on his journey to Egypt, PM Modi shared a heartfelt interaction with the Indian diaspora at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, DC. Describing the gathering as a delectable "sweet dish," he expressed his gratitude and bid them farewell.

Upon his arrival in Egypt, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to engage in various significant meetings with prominent leaders and the Indian diaspora residing there. These engagements aim to foster stronger ties between India and Egypt, opening doors to new opportunities for growth and collaboration.

During his first-ever tour of Egypt, PM Modi will spend nearly half an hour at the renowned Al-Hakim Mosque, a historically and culturally significant mosque in Cairo. Named after Al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah (985-1021), the 16th Fatimid caliph, the mosque holds immense importance for the Dawoodi Bohra community in Cairo. The visit to this iconic site further emphasizes the cultural ties between India and Egypt.

In a solemn tribute to the Indian soldiers who displayed unwavering courage and made the ultimate sacrifice while fighting for Egypt during the First World War, PM Modi will also visit the Heliopolis War Grave cemetery. This gesture of remembrance and gratitude symbolizes the deep respect India holds for its brave warriors and their valorous deeds.
