Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on his oath taking, and expressed confidence that the new administration will construct a new development paradigm in line with people's aspirations.
In the previous five years, the state has made rapid development on all fronts, he remarked in a tweet. Dhami was sworn in as Uttarakhand chief minister on Wednesday at a ceremony conducted at Dehradun's Parade Ground in the presence of Modi and other senior party officials.
Lt Gen (retd) Gurmit Singh, the governor of Uttarakhand, also administered the oath to eight ministers. Dhami, 46, is serving his second term as chief minister in a row.
