New Delhi: Former Prime Minister and JDS founder HD Deve Gowda arrives in Gujarat. He arrived here to see the 'Statue of Unity', a 182-meter tall statue of the country's Iron Man and the first Home Minister Sardar Patel. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed happiness on his visit. PM Modi has also tweeted about this. In this tweet, Modi wrote, 'It is a matter of great pleasure that our former PM HD Deve Gowda visited the Statue of Unity.' It is known that PM Modi had announced the construction of this statue in the memory of Sardar Patel when he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Sardar Patel is credited with linking 562 princely states with India after independence.
