Dehradun: Before the assembly elections, PM Narendra Modi gave many gifts to Uttarakhand. Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and also launch 23 other projects worth over Rs 17,500 crore. These 23 projects include laying the foundation stone of AIIMS, Rishikesh Satellite Center in Udham Singh Nagar district and Jagjivan Ram Government Medical College in Pithoragarh.
After the AIIMS established in Rishikesh in 2012, today Pradesaj is going to get the gift of another AIIMS. Tight security arrangements have been made for the rally. In huge numbers from nearby districts including Nainital, BJP workers have reached to listen to Prime Minister Modi. PM Narendra Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 23 developmental schemes worth Rs 17,500 crore in Uttarakhand. Out of 23 projects, 17 projects worth Rs 14,100 crore were laid.
The projects are related to many sectors including irrigation, roads, residential health infrastructure, industries, sanitation, drinking water supply. In addition, six projects were also inaugurated. These include road widening projects, a hydroelectric project in Pithoragarh and projects related to improving the sewerage network in Nainital. The total cost of these projects is Rs 3,400 crore. While addressing the workers, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that many welfare schemes are being run for development. He said that the Congress government has not done anything for the development of Uttarakhand.
