NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended hearty wishes to the nation on the occasion of the 76th Republic Day, urging everyone to continue safeguarding the values enshrined in the Constitution and striving for a prosperous India.

In a message shared on X , the Prime Minister said, "Happy Republic Day. Today, we celebrate 75 incredible years as a Republic. We honor the extraordinary men and women who crafted our Constitution and ensured our journey is anchored in democracy, dignity, and unity. May this day inspire us to uphold our constitutional ideals and work towards a stronger, more prosperous India."

India’s Grand Republic Day Celebrations

The 76th Republic Day will be celebrated in a grand ceremony at Kartavya Path in New Delhi, highlighting the nation’s cultural diversity, unity, development strides, and military strength. President Droupadi Murmu will lead the celebrations, with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto attending as the Chief Guest.

To enhance public participation, the government has invited around 10,000 Special Guests from diverse fields, recognizing their exceptional contributions to society and their role in building a vibrant India.

Key Highlights of the Republic Day Parade

For the first time, a tri-services tableau themed "Shashakt aur Surakshit Bharat" (Empowered and Secure India) will showcase the jointness and synergy of the Indian Armed Forces. The tableau will depict a Joint Operations Room symbolizing interconnectivity among the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

The parade will begin at 10:30 AM, starting with Prime Minister Modi paying tribute to the fallen heroes at the National War Memorial. The President will then take the salute, marking the start of the parade. Lieutenant General Bhavnish Kumar, Parade Commander, and Major General Sumit Mehta, Parade Second-in-Command, will lead the event.

The President’s Bodyguard Regiment will escort President Murmu and the Indonesian President as they arrive at Kartavya Path in a traditional buggy. Following this, the National Flag will be unfurled, accompanied by the National Anthem and a ceremonial 21-gun salute using indigenous 105-mm Light Field Guns.

Honoring Gallantry Award Winners

The nation’s bravest will be celebrated during the parade, with Param Vir Chakra recipients Subedar Major Yogendra Singh Yadav (retd) and Subedar Major Sanjay Kumar (retd), and Ashok Chakra recipient Lt Col Jas Ram Singh (retd) leading the march.

A contingent from Indonesia's Military Academy, comprising 152 personnel and a 190-member military band, will also participate, symbolizing strong international camaraderie.

The parade will feature the 61 Cavalry, the world’s last active horse-mounted cavalry unit, followed by mechanized and marching contingents from regiments like the Brigade of the Guards, The Jat Regiment, and The Jammu & Kashmir Rifles.

Spectacular Fly-Past and Grand Finale

One of the most awaited segments, the fly-past, will showcase an aerial display by 40 aircraft and helicopters, including Rafale, Su-30, Apache, and Mi-17. The ceremony will conclude with the National Anthem and the release of balloons featuring the official logo celebrating 75 years of the Constitution.
