Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stones for various infrastructure projects worth over Rs.32,800 crore in Thane. This includes the Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project and the Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension. Additionally, he inaugurated the Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA) project during the event.

As part of the efforts to enhance urban mobility in the region, the Prime Minister also inaugurated the BKC to Aarey JVLR section of Mumbai Metro Line 3, which has a budget of approximately Rs.14,120 crore. This section will feature ten stations, with nine of them being underground. The fully operational Mumbai Metro Line 3 aims to improve commuting between the city and its suburbs, with expectations of serving around 12 lakh passengers daily.

The Thane Integral Ring Metro Rail Project, which will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs.12,200 crore, will span a total length of 29 kilometers, including 20 elevated and 2 underground stations. This significant initiative is designed to meet the increasing transportation demands in Thane, a crucial industrial and commercial center in Maharashtra.

The Elevated Eastern Freeway Extension from Chheda Nagar to Anand Nagar in Thane is set to provide smooth connectivity from south Mumbai to Thane.

Moreover, the NAINA project, costing about Rs.2,550 crore, involves constructing major arterial roads, bridges, flyovers, underpasses, and integrated utility infrastructure.

The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone for the Thane Municipal Corporation building, which is projected to cost around Rs.700 crore.
