NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed delight on Thursday at the 70th anniversary of India-Japan diplomatic relations.

Prime Minister Modi remarked that the ties have become stronger in all areas, including strategic, economic, and people-to-people contacts."As we celebrate 70 years of diplomatic relations between India and Japan today, I am delighted to note that our relationships have deepened in every field, whether strategic, economic, or people-to-people contacts," Prime Minister Modi said in a series of tweets. "In a post-COVID world, my friend PM Kishida @kishida230 recently visited India for the Annual Summit, which laid out a strategy for extending our Special Strategic and Global Partnership. I'm looking forward to collaborating with Prime Minister Kishida to achieve that goal "he added.

Earlier this month, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida paid a two-day visit to India for the 14th India-Japan Annual Summit, where he met with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi and signed many agreements on bilateral cooperation. This was Prime Minister Kishida's first visit to India on a bilateral basis.
