VisakhapatnamPrime Minister Narendra Modi visited Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, on Wednesday, where he received a warm welcome from Governor S Abdul Nazeer, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and other officials. The visit marked a significant moment as the Prime Minister joined CM Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan for an energetic roadshow through the streets of Visakhapatnam.

Pioneering Green Energy Initiatives

After the roadshow, PM Modi is set to inaugurate the NTPC Green Energy Limited Green Hydrogen Hub Project at Pudimadaka near Visakhapatnam. This trailblazing initiative aligns with India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission and represents a monumental investment of approximately Rs.1,85,000 crore.

The project will include a 20 GW renewable energy capacity and will host one of the country’s largest green hydrogen production facilities. It is designed to produce 1,500 tons per day (TPD) of Green Hydrogen along with 7,500 TPD of Green Methanol, Green Urea, and Sustainable Aviation Fuel. This ambitious project underscores India’s commitment to achieving 500 GW of non-fossil energy capacity by 2030, further strengthening its position as a global leader in renewable energy.

Infrastructure and Industrial Development

In addition to the green energy project, PM Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation for a range of railway and road infrastructure projects worth over Rs.19,500 crore. These projects aim to enhance connectivity and bolster economic growth across the region.

The Prime Minister will also initiate the development of a Bulk Drug Park in Nakkapalli, Anakapalli district, marking a major step forward for Andhra Pradesh’s healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.

A Vision for Industrial Growth

Another highlight of PM Modi's visit is the foundation stone laying for the Krishnapatnam Industrial Area (KRIS City) in Tirupati district. As part of the Chennai-Bengaluru Industrial Corridor, KRIS City is envisioned as a state-of-the-art greenfield industrial smart city. The project is expected to attract Rs.10,500 crore in manufacturing investments and create around 1 lakh direct and indirect jobs, thereby boosting regional development and providing substantial livelihood opportunities.

Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Andhra Pradesh marks a pivotal moment in the state’s journey toward sustainable development and industrial growth. The initiatives unveiled during this visit not only align with India’s broader developmental goals but also position Andhra Pradesh as a hub for green energy and industrial innovation.
