Varanasi: Dom Raja Jagdish Chaudhary of Kashi died on Tuesday morning. He breathed his last in Kashi's private hospital. He was undergoing treatment for several months due to a thigh wound. A crowd of people gathered at his Tripura Bhairavi Ghat residence. In the Lok Sabha elections, PM Modi chose Jagdish Chaudhary as his proponent. The last rites are always performed in Kashi's Manikarnika and Harishchandra Ghat. The funeral of both the ghats is owned by the Dome Samaj.

Not only in Mansa but Corona continues in this city as well!

Due to this main responsibility in Kashi, he is called Dom Raja. On becoming the proponent of PM Modi, Jagdish Chaudhary had said that this gave a distinct identity to our society. For the first time, a political party has given us this recognition. We have been withstood for many years. Things have definitely improved compared to the past, but we have not been recognized in society and if PM wants, our condition will definitely improve.

He also said that the leaders come to ask for votes, but after the elections, no one comes to seek improvement. Explain that there are about 500 to 600 domes in Harishchandra and Manikarnika Ghat. While there are more than five thousand people in his community. All the domes are given their turn on both ghats and sometimes in ten days or twenty days. Other than that they remain restless the whole day. There is no permanent employment in this work and no enough earning to give children a better life.
