NEW DELHI: During a special session of Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed India's enduring pride in its role as the representative of the Global South at the G20 Summit. He also celebrated the inclusion of the African Union as a permanent member of the G20, viewing these developments as auspicious signs for India's promising future.
In anticipation of this Parliament Special Session, PM Modi remarked that it would be a brief yet momentous gathering marked by historic decisions. He emphasized the unique nature of this session, as it marked the commencement of a new chapter in India's 75-year journey.
PM Modi articulated his vision for India's future, setting a goal to transform the country into a developed nation by 2047. He underscored that all forthcoming decisions would emanate from the new Parliament building, symbolizing a fresh start.
Furthermore, he shared that tomorrow, on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, the nation would shift to the new Parliament building, drawing a parallel between Lord Ganesha, known as 'Vighnaharta' (the remover of obstacles), and the unimpeded progress of the nation.
PM Modi is scheduled to initiate a discussion in the Lok Sabha on Monday, focusing on Parliament's 75-year journey. The discussion, titled "Parliamentary Journey of 75 Years: From Samvidhan Sabha – Achievements, Experiences, Memories, and Learnings," will commence shortly after the House convenes at 11 am.
This session holds special significance as it marks the final day of parliamentary activities in the current building before the legislature relocates to the new adjacent building on the following day.
