NEW DELHI: PM Narendra Modi has taken unprecedented action by scrapping nearly 2,000 outdated regulations, stated Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh during the 52nd Pre-Retirement Counselling Workshop in New Delhi.

Dr. Jitendra Singh emphasized that the Prime Minister had exhibited exceptional resolve in breaking away from obsolete norms. He highlighted the government's daring approach under PM Modi's leadership, implementing administrative reforms utilizing advanced technology to foster a conducive environment.

Singh cited specific examples of abolished rules that hindered pension entitlements for employees with fewer than 10 years of service, denied benefits to missing employees for up to seven years, and excluded dependent divorcee daughters from pension provisions.

Furthermore, administrative initiatives such as Pre-Retirement Counselling workshops, Anubhav Awards, and Pension Adalat have streamlined the prompt disbursal of pension benefits to retiring employees. The integration of various departments, pension-disbursing banks, CGHS, and SCOVA meetings with Pensioners Associations showcases a comprehensive 'Whole of Government' approach in these workshops.

Highlighting the significance of the growing three crore pensioner community, exceeding the count of active working employees, Singh stressed their role as a valuable resource to realize the vision of Viksit Bharat@2047.

He envisioned that as India commemorates its centenary of Independence, the youth, alongside the support of the burgeoning veteran population, will steer the course towards a developed Bharat@2047. The introduction of technologies like the Digital Life Certificate and Face Recognition Technology, coupled with portals like Bhavishya, Digilocker, and CPENGRAMS, has significantly eased the post-retirement experience for employees.
